Special team appointed to investigate Rambukkana shooting

Minister of Public Security Prasanna Ranatunga says a special team has been appointed to investigate the unrest in Rambukkana.
Speaking in Parliament today (20), the Minister said a special committee chaired by a Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration has been appointed to investigate the actions of Police during yesterday’s incident.
He hoped to present the committee report in Parliament as soon as possible.
Minister Ranatunga further said that Police had taken all possible steps to control the protest and the shooting transpired after trying all alternatives.
